Longtime Redmond business changes its name

A familiar name in the Redmond area just got a new one.
FMC FoodTech, a global food processing equipment company with a longtime presence in Redmond, is now known as JBT FoodTech.
Houston-based FMC Technologies Inc. spun off FMC FoodTech and FMC Airport Systems on April 30 to form John Bean Technologies Corporation (JBT Corporation). JBT Corp. became a separate, publicly traded company on Aug. 1, when it was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the ticker JBT. JBT Corp., with a turnover close to $1 billion and with 3,100 employees around the world, is headquartered in Chicago.
The Redmond JBT FoodTech facility, which currently employs about 30 people, is responsible for DSI Waterjet Portioning Systems, including software development and design engineering. The systems are used by food processors all over the world.
“The sign outside of our building, as part of the founding of JBT Corporation, will be the only noticeable difference to the community,” explained Peter FitzGibbon, director of human resources for JBT FoodTech.
He added, “JBT FoodTech and its local employees will continue its legacy of innovation. As we move forward as an organization, we work to advance the way foods are made and enjoyed.”
