If businesses have 50 or fewer employees and have been in business for three years, Mayor John Marchione would like to encourage them to nominate their business for the King County Executive’s Small Business Award. This is an annual awards program that celebrates the importance and accomplishments of small businesses in the following award categories: Minority-Owned, Woman-Owned, Exporting, Green/Sustainable, Workforce Development, Rural and the overall Small Business of the Year.

The program’s website is www.kingcounty.gov/smallbusinessawards. It includes information on each award category and a link to the electronic nomination form. The website will accept nominations through July 20 and King County will announce the four finalists for each category in early September.

“I often have the pleasure of meeting with businesses in our city and learning about the great work and innovation happening in our community. Small businesses are a large and important part of our local economy. Your work is exciting, inspiring and frankly, something I enjoy boasting about. I would be honored to join the King County Executive in recognizing our wonderful small businesses in Redmond for their contribution to the King County economy and our community,” said Marchione.
