On June 4, the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) held a reception honoring outgoing Superintendent Dr. Chip Kimball.

Kimball is leaving to become the superintendent at the Singapore American School. Board President Jackie Pendergrass, former LWSD Superintendent Ron Barnes and incoming Superintendent Dr. Traci Pierce were among the evening's speakers.

Lake Washington PTSA co-presidents Sarah Stone and Shelley Flores also spoke and announced that the organization has purchased two books for each school library in the district — a total of 102 books — in Kimball's honor.

In addition, students from the Redmond High School orchestra conducted a performance at the event. Sodexo and culinary arts students from Lake Washington High School prepared and provided food for the evening.
