Students shine at DECA contest

DECA students from around the Lake Washington School District participated in the recent area level contest.

Of those, 22 from Redmond High School will move on to the state competition this month.

Students who placed first, second or third were:

• Jillian Jaccard and Dylan McBride: First place, Sports & Entertainment

• Tyler Dougherty and Kambiz Shemashaki: Second place, Sports & Entertainment

• Scott Koben and Brian Grina: Third place, Sports & Entertainment

• Andrei Nedelcu and Simone Vieco: First place, Business Law & Ethics

• Landon Sach and Matt Fuget: First place, Travel & Tourism

• Brandon Robinson: Second place, Sports & Entertainment

• Mandi Collings: Second place, Retail Merchandising

• Caileen Cox: Third place, Hotel & Lodging

Sub-category winners included:

• Netania Boentaram: Second place on her test

• Mike Nelson: First place test

• Jessica Wolford: Second place test

• Morgan Fiander: Second place test
