The New Poet’s Society (http://New-Poets-Society.org) is seeking donations to provide scholarship money for high-school-aged poets.

Through a competition held in April in high schools in the Lake Washington School District, students will be selected for scholarship consideration.

In its first year, 2008, New Poet’s Society gave $3,000 in cash awards to students and also provided gift certificates to local bookstores.

The donations are tax deductible.

Checks payable to New Poet’s Society may be mailed to 13303 NE 75th St., Redmond, WA 98052. For information, e-mail rsmith2@hotmail.com.
