January 25, 2013 · Updated 12:08 PM

Fine Arts at Faith will present 13-year-old pianist Max Randal in concert at 4 p.m. on Feb. 10. He will perform Tchaikovskys' Concerto No. 1 in b flat minor, Op. 23 with Randall Jackson, accompanist. Solo works by J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Ravel and Ginastera will also be on the program.

Faith Lutheran Church is located at 9041 166th Ave. N.E., Redmond. Suggested donation is $10.

Randal, an eighth-grader at Redmond Middle School, has co-designed RanCraft Penguins, a Minecraft Mod that has been downloaded more than 10,000 times and has been used in more than 50 countries.

He was awarded gold medals in Spokane’s 2011 and 2012 Musicfest Northwest, attaining the highest overall score out of more than 400 participants. He received gold seals in the Seattle Young Artist Music Festival in 2010, 2011 and 2012, and was a concerto finalist with the Sammamish Symphony twice and the Bellevue Philharmonic once. In 2012, he was one of only 40 competitors worldwide to advance to the second round of the Minnesota International Piano-e-Competition. In December 2012, he was a medalist in the Russian Chamber Music Festival playing the Tchaikovsky Concerto No. 1, 2nd & 3rd movements, and performed the 3rd movement in the showcase recital to rave reviews on Vladimir Horowitz’s legendary 9’ Steinway.
