Redmond residents were treated to a very energetic and entertaining rendition of the classic "Wizard of Oz" last weekend, as Evergreen Middle School and Studio East staged three shows at Redmond High School's Performing Arts Center in front of near capacity crowds.

Sixth-grader Kenzie Sigel and eighth-grader Emma Wick shared the role of Dorothy — as well as Toto.

"We had an amazing three shows," said Sigel, "and I am unbelievably proud of us as a cast."

The 34-member cast was also led by eighth-grader Spencer Silverman, who played the Scarecrow, seventh-grader Morgan Myers as the Tin Man and Matt Palik as the Lion. Seventh-grader Amy Newman-Taylor was Glinda, eighth-grader Kylee Traynor was the Wicked Witch and Cameron Boher was the Wizard.
