'Ballad of a Bagpiper' author to visit Redmond

Three Lions Pub, 8115 161st Ave. NE in Redmond, hosts a book-signing with Edward Channon, author of "Ballad of a Bagpiper" at 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.

Channon has played bagpipes around the world for 35 years, even performing for Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Diana, President Ronald Reagan and Bill Gates. He has studied Celtic and Scottish history both in the U.S. and abroad and played for more than 5,000 weddings, funerals, parties and other events.

According to a press release, the book recalls his travels and some of the humorous incidents he has experienced, such as falling into an open grave.
