The U.S. Postal Service has selected a 5,000-square foot building at 8215 160th Avenue NE as the downtown location for a new post office in Redmond.

USPS Real Estate Contractor John Logan has notified Redmond Mayor John Marchione of the decision and has invited the city to respond within 30 days.

The current Redmond Post Office, 16135 NE 85th St., will remain in service until moving to the new location. Redmond Letter Carriers will move to the Redmond Carrier Annex, 721 185th Ave. NE, once the new site is developed.

"We believe this new location will provide the community with an upgraded, modern facility that offers a safe working environment for our employees and a level of service expected by our customers," Logan stated in his letter to the mayor.
