Redmond Police Blotter: Vader tracks down hit-and-run suspect
The police blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical roundup of all calls to the Redmond Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Redmond Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Redmond, which gets more than 500 calls (emergency and non-emergency) per week.
Wednesday, May 11
Tracked down: At 1:44 a.m., Washington State Patrol requested assistance from Redmond’s K-9, Vader, to track down a suspect who fled the scene of a rollover accident near the I-405/SR-520 interchange. Vader found the suspect, who was located nearby.
Tuesday, May 10
Assault: At 8:47 p.m., a resident who lives in the 3000 block of 173rd Circle Northeast reported being assaulted by a known suspect.
Theft: At 6:31 p.m., a woman was arrested for allegedly stealing from a department store in the 2200 block of 148th Avenue Northeast.
Car prowl: At 8:36 a.m., a woman who lives in the 17600 block of Northeast 30th Place reported her purse and a company laptop were stolen from the front passenger area of her vehicle, which was parked in front of her residence.
Monday, May 9
Burglary: Redmond police investigated a 3:54 p.m. report of a burglary at a residence in the 10200 block of 186th Circle Northeast. The incident occurred over the weekend while the residents were on vacation.
Theft: Three bicycles were stolen from an apartment complex in the 8700 block of 164th Avenue Northeast sometime overnight.
Sunday, May 8
Theft: A cell phone was stolen from a park in the 8400 block of 161st Avenue Northeast. The incident was reported at 6:34 p.m.
Assault: Redmond police arrested an intoxicated resident who assaulted another person at a hotel in the 17600 block of Redmond Way at around 7:30 a.m.
Saturday, May 7
Dangerous driver: A resident was arrested for reckless driving in the 3000 block of Bel-Red Road at around 10:30 p.m.
Friday, May 6
Theft: A bicycle was stolen from an apartment complex in the 15700 block of Bear Creek Parkway.
Tunnel burglary: Someone broke into a salon in the 8900 block of 161st Avenue Northeast sometime in the middle of the night and broke down drywall to access the next-door martial arts studio, where they stole merchandise and cash from a safe. There is no suspect information.
