Kerilyn Higashi, a sixth grader and Safety Patrol member at Norman Rockwell Elementary School, is a finalist for the AAA Safety Patrol Hall of Fame.

Each year, 10 members are selected statewide and Kerilyn and the remaining nine nominees will be honored at the Seattle Mariners game on May 4 with a pre-game ceremony on the field and get to watch the game on the field.

"Kerilyn is a leader and helps others," said Rathan Mahendran, fifth-grade teacher and head of Rockwell's Safety Patrol. "She is one of many dedicated patrol members at Rockwell who come to school early and stay late to help other students arrive to school safely."
