City seeking volunteers for centennial and Redmond Lights celebrations

October 12, 2012 · 9:44 AM

The City of Redmond is currently recruiting for the centennial celebration and Redmond Lights, both to be held Dec. 1.

Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. There is something for everyone: Kids' activities, event support, set up and tear down.

The city will celebrate the centennial during the day and Redmond Lights in the evening.

"Helping the community celebrate the beginning of the holiday season is a great way to meet your neighbors and benefit your health," said Redmond volunteer coordinator Florence Wong. "Studies show volunteering increases self-esteem, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress on the body and even bolsters the immune system."
