Construction worker hurt after falling into trench on Avondale Road

A construction worker suffered what are believed to be minor injuries when he fell into a 13-foot trench this afternoon at the 18000 block of Avondale Road, according to Jim Bove of the Redmond Police Department.

The Redmond Fire Department arrived on the scene shortly after the 1:18 p.m. emergency call came in, rescued the man from the trench and transported him to a local hospital.

Bove said that Avondale was partially closed during the rescue, one lane was eventually opened each way and the road was completely opened by 2:03 p.m.
