February 26, 2013 · Updated 11:35 AM

Redmond police arrested a Woodinville man for rape on Monday.

Redmond Police Department (RPD) spokesperson James Bove said they do not like to comment on such cases in order to protect the victim, adding that it is difficult to come forward and the more attention case gets, the less likely victims will come forward.

"But," Bove said, "I can say it was an acquaintance, it was not a stranger rape."
