City of Redmond receives 21 new clean-air Waste Management trucks
These green-certified collection trucks are powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) for a smaller carbon footprint. The trucks will deliver distinct environmental benefits to Redmond, including nearly zero diesel air particulate, 23 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions and quieter engines.
At Tuesday's event, Redmond Mayor John Marchione, Mary Evans of Waste Management and Stephanie Meyn of Puget Sound Clean Air Agency sent the last three trucks into service. The mayor and Lake Washington School District STEM High School students Maya Ganasan and Christopher Yu spoke at the event. City Council members and STEM School administrators also attended the event.
