LWSD FIRST Tech Challenge team receives multiple awards this season

A FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robot design team made up of four Lake Washington School District (LWSD) high school students received four awards this season.

The students were Redmond High senior Maggie Robinson, Lake Washington High junior Roland Munsil, Juanita High sophomore Diego Alvarez and International Community School senior Aidan Hurst. They were coached by Cesar Alvarez, Mark Hurst and Dan Robinson.

The team was the Captain of the District Finalist Alliance and won the Eastside League Champions Award as well as third place for the Inspire Award at the North Interleague Championship on Jan. 12. The team qualified for the FTC Washington State Championship on Jan. 26, where they won the Washington State Championship Control Award.
