Overlake resident receives fraudulent call from IRS | Police blotter for March 7-9
The police blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical roundup of all calls to the Redmond Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Redmond Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Redmond, which gets more than 500 calls (emergency and non-emergency) per week.
Sunday, March 9
Stolen vehicle recovery: Redmond police recovered a stolen vehicle in the 14100 block of Northeast 71st Place in Grass Lawn at 3:56 p.m.
Vehicle prowls: Officers responded to six vehicle prowl reports — four of which were from Grass Lawn. One was Education Hill and one was at Northeast 117th Street and Willows Road.
Assault: Officers responded to a domestic violence report at 6:35 a.m. from the 10300 block of 163rd Place Northeast on Education Hill. A female was subsequently arrested for domestic violence assault in the fourth degree.
Malicious mischief: Redmond police took two reports of malicious mischief at 12:07 a.m. and 12:14 a.m. downtown.
Saturday, March 8
Grand theft auto: Redmond police responded to a reported vehicle theft at 8:44 p.m. from Northeast 31st Way and 148th Avenue Northeast in Overlake and downtown.
Shoplifting: Redmond police responded to three shoplifting reports. Two were from downtown and one was from Overlake.
Burglary: At 3:07 p.m., Redmond police responded to a report of a burglary of a storage unit in the 16200 block of Northeast 85th Street downtown.
Vandalism: An unknown suspect vandalized two large pieces of machinery in the 16400 block of Northeast 122nd Street on Education Hill by throwing rocks through their windows.
Friday, March 7
Fraud: Redmond police took a report at 4 p.m. from the 4700 block of 164th Place Northeast in Overlake of an attempted fraud in which someone claiming to be with the IRS was demanding money over the phone.
Threats: At 10:36 a.m., a traffic violator made threats against Redmond officers in the 8600 block of 160th Avenue Northeast on Education Hill. The violator was upset over a citation he received.
Out of gas: At 9:11 a.m., Redmond police investigated a fuel theft from the 2700 block of 152nd Avenue Northeast in Overlake. There was no suspect information.
