Redmond's Gabriela Gonzalez has been awarded a $3,000 BECU Foundation Scholarship.

Gonzalez attends the University of Washington and served as student director for the El Centro Latino Program at Bellevue College (BC) for her main service project.

Gonzalez noted about her experience: “Efforts are made to serve minorities better and welcome them to a more friendly campus.”

As part of BECU’s commitment to education and assisting outstanding students, the BECU Foundation awarded 75 BECU student-members with $3,000 scholarships toward their college education, which is a record for the number of scholarships awarded in a given year. For more than 18 years, the BECU Foundation has awarded these scholarships to outstanding high school and undergraduate college students.
