City to develop master plan for Sammamish Valley Park; community meeting set for July 16
June 19, 2009 · 12:29 PM
The City of Redmond will develop a Master Plan for Sammamish Valley Park, an undeveloped park at the corner of Northeast 116th Street and Willows Road Northeast, north of the Willows Run Golf Course.
This plan will evaluate alternatives for the park, identify a preferred alternative and prepare a cost estimate for full design and construction of the park.
As part of this process, the city will hold a community meeting on Thursday, July 16 beginning at 7 p.m. at the Old Redmond Schoolhouse Community Center, 16600 NE 80th Street, Room 104. This meeting provides the public with an opportunity to voice their opinions on the conceptual alternatives presented.
This site has many unique characteristics including a significant amount of wetlands, a spectacular valley view, a rich history and proximity to the Sammamish River Trail.
Later in the summer, once the alternatives for the park are better developed, the city will host a second public meeting to discuss those options before a preferred alternative is identified. After the Draft Master Plan is prepared, the public will again have an opportunity to comment.
