There were no injuries or house damage after Redmond firefighters doused 10-foot flames that engulfed shrubs in the front yard of a home in the 2000 block of 183rd Avenue Northeast early Tuesday morning.

There are no leads to the cause of the fire, which destroyed the shrubs, but was extinguished before it spread to the house, according to Jim Bove, Redmond Police spokesperson. Police searched the area, but found no suspects.

Redmond Police received a 911 call at 1:01 a.m. on Tuesday from a man who said his neighbor’s front yard was on fire, Bove said. The witness said he heard a “loud bang,” and then “saw flames engulfing shrubs in the front of the person’s house,” Bove said.

“There was nobody seen leaving the area and there was no firework paraphernalia found in the area,” Bove said.
