The new Washington State Liquor Control Board (WSLBC) store in downtown Redmond is now open at 16839 Redmond Way, the former location of Underhill's Fine Wood Furniture.

The store will incorporate community history, with charming displays from the Redmond Historical Society and eventually, graphics representing the heritage of the state's wine and spirit industries, according to Steve Burnell, marketing manager for the WSLCB.

Store hours will be 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday and Saturday; noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

Long before the handsome brick building was a furniture store, it was the home of Bill Brown's Garage.

Information about this vintage building and others in Redmond's "Old Town" area can be found in the Historic Downtown Walking Tour brochures available from the Redmond Historical Society.
