Manka Dhingra is looking to retain her 45th Legislative District seat in the state Senate, and two Eastside leaders are looking to fill the shoes of 48th District Rep. Joan McBride in the state House.

Those were among the developments as candidates signed up to run for state and federal offices on ballots in King County. The filing deadline was May 18.

Republican Dale Fonk of Woodinville signed up to challenge Dhingra for state senator in the 45th Legislative District. Also in the 45th, Democrat Larry Springer, of Kirkland, will run again for state Representative, Position 2, against Republican Amber Krabach, of Woodinville. Democrat Roger Goodman, of Kirkland, is running again for Position 1 against Republican Michael Curtis, of Redmond.

In the 48th Legislative District, Democrat Sen. Patty Kuderer is running to retain her seat after being appointed to the Senate last year. She is challenged by Democrat and former state Sen. Rodney Tom, Republican Ken Seal, Independent Bill Hirt and Republican Richard Bennett.

Democrat and former Bellevue City Council member Vandana Slatter will run again for state Representative, Position 1, while Democrats Cindi Bright and Amy Walen, the current mayor of Kirkland, will face off for 48th District Position 2.

Republican Jeffrey Beeler, a Sultan City Councilmember since 2009, jumped into the race for the 1st Congressional District seat held by Democratic U.S. Rep. Suzan DelBene, of Medina. Robert Mair, of Redmond, and Adam Pilskog, of Monroe, who have not stated a party preference, also filed, along with Republican Scott Stafne, of Arlington.

Libertarian Mike Luke, of Lynnwood, and 28 others filed for the U.S. Senate seat held by Democrat Sen. Maria Cantwell, who is pursuing a fourth term. Luke previously ran in 2016 against U.S. Sen. Patty Murray.
