District 45 and 48 incumbents lead in early general election results

Early results for Tuesday’s general election show 45th and 48th Legislative District incumbents leading the way. The latest results were posted on Wednesday on the King County Elections and Secretary of State sites.

In the 45th District, Position 1 race, incumbent Roger Goodman, who prefers the Democratic Party, leads with 64.67 percent, or 29,618 votes. Challenger Ramiro Valderrama of the Republican Party received 35.33 percent, or 16,178 votes.

For 45th District, Position 2, incumbent Larry Springer, who prefers the Democratic Party, is running unopposed and received 96.87 percent, or 35,807 votes.

In the 48th District, Position 1 race, incumbent Patty Kuderer of the Democratic Party leads with 72.77 percent, or 26,668 votes. Challenger Michelle Darnell, who prefers the Libertarian Party, received 27.23 percent, or 9,980 votes.

Incumbent Joan McBride, who prefers the Democratic Party, is leading in the 48th District, Position 2 race with 75.18 percent, or 27,394 votes. Challenger Ben Phelps of the Libertarian Party received 24.82 percent, or 9,044 votes.

In the Congressional District 1 race for United States representative, incumbent Suzan DelBene, who prefers the Democratic Party, leads with 56.78 percent, or 132,794 votes. Challenger Robert Sutherland of the Republican Party has 43.22 percent, or 101,100 votes.

Proposition 1 Sound Transit 3 early results: Approved (54.46 percent; 471,352 votes); Rejected (45.54 percent; 394,220 votes).

Final results of the election will be certified on Nov. 29.
