There are five city races on the November ballot, but only two of them will be contested.
As November approaches, Democratic incumbent Rep. Larry Springer and his Republican opponent Mark Isaacs are battling it out for state representative position No. 2 of the 45th District. They disagree on big issues such as the state deficit as well as local issues like transportation.
State Sen. Rodney Tom (D-Bellevue) and his colleagues in Washington’s 48th Legislative District - Rep. Ross Hunter (D-Bellevue) and Rep. Debb Eddy (D-Kirkland) - have been known to hold town halls at least once a month in the district. Tom recalls what one voter said to him after one forum this year.
