EvergreenHealth honors Health Heroes

EvergreenHealth has announced the recipients of its Health Hero award for the fourth quarter of 2016. The Health Hero award is presented quarterly and recognizes outstanding providers, staff, volunteers and clinical teams that offer exceptional care and service. Each recipient demonstrates a commitment to the health system’s core values of compassion, collaboration, accountability, respect and excellence.

“It is an honor to continually recognize the providers and employees at EvergreenHealth who dedicate themselves to providing exceptional care to our patients, their families and the communities we serve,” said EvergreenHealth CEO Bob Malte. “The Health Heroes award is just one way we extend our gratitude to EvergreenHealth’s providers, staff, volunteers and clinical teams for their service and commitment.”

This quarter’s recipients are being recognized for their steadfast commitment to providing proactive, attentive and compassionate care. Each recipient consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the comfort, safety and well-being of those they serve. EvergreenHealth selects individuals who demonstrate this caliber of service across five categories. This quarter’s “heroes” are:

• Physician Hero: Ziad AlSoufi, MD, EvergreenHealth Neuroscience Institute

• Team Hero: EvergreenHealth Ear, Nose and Throat Care/EvergreenHealth Emergency Department

• Organizational Hero: Lydia Davis, Home Hospice Care

• Clinical Heroes: Janelle Crossman, RN, BSN and Mary Schlechty, EvergreenHealth Women’s Care

• Volunteer Hero: Julie Harcus and her dog Beau

• Safety Hero: Cindy Wincewicz, RN, ESC EvergreenHealth Surgical Center

The EvergreenHealth Health Hero program honors the remarkable efforts of providers and employees that carry out EvergreenHealth’s core values in all they do. EvergreenHealth Health Heroes receive a personalized trophy and are honored by an audience of more than 50 organizational leaders.

EvergreenHealth Health Heroes are nominated year-round by patients and visiting families who experience exceptional care and compassion from individuals and teams during their time at EvergreenHealth. Staff is also welcome to submit nominations for their peers whom they witness providing outstanding service and care.
