Grocery store staff finds, turns in small bag of meth; $5,000 bike stolen on New Year’s Day | Police blotter for Dec. 28-Jan. 3

Tuesday, Jan. 3

Drugs offense: Redmond police took a drugs-offense report at 4:29 p.m. in the 17200 block of Redmond Way. Staff from a grocery store turned in a small bag of meth that had been left at their store by an unknown person.

Monday, Jan. 2

Burglary: Redmond police took a burglary report at 6:32 a.m. in the 9900 block of Willows Road. A suspect kicked in a church office door and stole keys and $20 in cash.

Sunday, Jan. 1

Bike theft: Redmond police took a bike-theft report at 4:47 a.m. in the 7700 block of Leary Way. A bicycle owner left a $5,000 bicycle outside and returned several hours later to find it missing.

Saturday, Dec. 31

Shoplifting: Redmond police took a shoplifting report at 5:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of 148th Avenue Northeast.

Friday, Dec. 30

Fraud: Redmond police took a fraud report at 6:31 p.m. in the 4800 block of 156th Avenue Northeast. A woman trying to sublet her apartment received a check for over the amount of rent. After depositing the check, she was asked to wire the extra $5,000 to a separate account. The check was fraudulent.

Thursday, Dec. 29

Robbery: Redmond police investigated a robbery report at 9:09 p.m. in the 17100 block of Redmond Way. Officers responded to a shoplifting call where the suspect showed a knife while exiting the store with stolen items.

Auto theft recovery: Redmond police recovered a stolen vehicle at 7 p.m. in the 15200 block of Bel-Red Road. An officer on patrol spotted a stolen, unoccupied Honda Civic parked behind a business. While monitoring the area, officers noted a Jeep Wrangler arrive later, observed the driver’s suspicious behavior and learned the Jeep had been stolen from Auburn on Dec. 26. The driver was arrested and both vehicles recovered. Investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, Dec. 28

Assault: Redmond police investigated an assault report at 8:34 p.m. in the 15900 block of Northeast 85th Street. Two men had a physical altercation near the slough trail and one man was treated for injuries at the library.
