LWSD adds two days, extends four early release days to make up snow days

Lake Washington School District (LWSD) will make up three snow days by extending the school year by two days and by changing four previously scheduled Wednesday 1.5-hour early release days to full days.

The last day of school, a half day, will move from June 21 to June 23. To make up the third snow day, the following early-release Wednesdays will now be regular full school days: March 22, April 12, May 3 and May 31.

In addition, the LWSD calendar has been updated as follows:

June 21 and June 22 will now be full school days for students. June 21 will not be an early release day.

June 23 will be the last day of school. It will be a half day for students and a full day for staff. See the list of half-day dismissal times.

If there are any additional snow days this year, they will be made up the week of June 26.

State law requires students to attend school a minimum of 180 days and 1,027 hours per year. When school is canceled due to snow or inclement weather, those days and hours of instruction must be made up.
