‘Meet the Candidates’ event set for July 6

The Education Hill Neighborhood Association is hosting a “Meet the Candidates” event at 7 p.m. July 6 at First Baptist Church of Redmond, 16700 N.E. 95th St.

Meet the candidates and incumbents for Redmond City Council positions 2, 4 and 6. The event will be forum style with a question-and-answer period at the end.

This is not just for Education Hill residents but for anyone in Redmond who would like to meet the candidates running for city council.

At Position 2, Byron Shutz is running for re-election against challengers Steve Fields and Osama Hamdan.

At Position 4, Tanika Padhye currently holds the spot after being appointed by the city council in March to replace Kimberly Allen — cited scheduling conflicts with her job — and will run against Eugene Zakhareyev.

At Position 6, Jason Antonelli, Roy Captain and Jeralee Anderson are running. Current council member John Stilin’s term expires on Dec. 31, and he will not seek re-election.

Because of the probable size of this meeting, attendees should RSVP so organizers have the appropriate room to conform to fire safety regulations. For information, email edhillna@outlook.com or check the associations’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/EdHillNeighborhood/.
