Residents participated in the Green Redmond Day tree planting event at parks on Oct. 28. The Green Redmond Partnership puts on the event, which is a collaboration between the city, Forterra and volunteers. It has been happening since 2009 and has brought more than 1,000 acres of forested parkland into active management. Activities included removing non-native and invasive plants as well as planting native trees and shrubs.
