Police chiefs from six local cities will participate in a safety forum from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Muslim Association of Puget Sound (MAPS), 17550 N.E. 67th Court in Redmond.

Chiefs from Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond and Sammamish will address myriad topics, including being aware of your surroundings, what to do if and when faced with a hate crime and when to call 911. Sheikh Fazal of Islamic Center of Eastside and Mahmood Khadeer of MAPS will join the panel.

A town-hall style question-and-answer session will follow.
