Redmond firefighters associations offer $1,000 scholarships

The Redmond Firefighters Union, IAFF Local #2829, and Redmond Firefighters Benevolent Fund are offering $1,000 scholarships. Each applicant must be applying as a full-time student into an accredited college, university, vocational or technical program.

The union scholarship will be awarded to the deserving individual who completes the application and essay and is judged to reflect the Redmond Fire Fighters Union values.

The benevolent fund scholarship is available to students who have financial need.

High school seniors who live or attend school within the City of Redmond and King County Fire District 34 borders qualify for the scholarships. This includes Redmond High, Bear Creek and Overlake schools, homeschooled students and GED students who are less than 20 years old.

The deadline for scholarships is March 1, 2018.
