Redmond High’s Holmen receives Nokomis Scholarship

Tyler Holmen, a 2016 graduate of Redmond High, is this year's recipient of the $1,000 Nokomis Scholarship funded in memory of Audrey Gorlick. Holmen is the son of Gina and Dan Holmen of Redmond. He will be honored at the Nokomis luncheon on June 24.

Tyler Holmen, a 2016 graduate of Redmond High, is this year’s recipient of the $1,000 Nokomis Scholarship funded in memory of Audrey Gorlick. Holmen is the son of Gina and Dan Holmen of Redmond. He will be honored at the Nokomis luncheon on June 24.

Holmen plans to attend Central Washington University majoring in aviation.

This scholarship recognizes high academics, community involvement, extracurricular activities and future goals.

Holmen is a member of the school’s string orchestra, symphony orchestra and studio jazz orchestra. He played at Carnegie Hall in 2013 and 2016 with the orchestra and has played violin for the school drama productions. In addition to these activities, he is a member of the National Honor Society, involved in his church youth group and is a baseball umpire for Redmond West Little League and Umpires Northwest.
