Redmond Kiwanis Club has plenty of activities on tap

Special to the Reporter

The Redmond Kiwanis Club is composed of men and women who, at the local level, take part in a variety of youth-focused service projects for the community and fund raising activities to support these projects.

Many of its service projects involve serving food for the vulnerable, according to a press release. On Aug. 2, Kiwanis will prepare and serve dinner for families at the Doreen Marchione Community Center on Avondale Way. On Aug. 21, members will prepare and serve dinner for homeless youth and young adults at the Landing in downtown Redmond.

To raise funds to support their youth projects, Redmond Kiwanis is preparing and selling food and ice cream for the “Rockn’ On The River” summer concert series. The concerts are held on the Outdoor Plaza of the Senior Center. Remaining concerts are from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday evenings, July 27, Aug. 3 and Aug. 10.

Redmond Kiwanis holds its meetings at 7 a.m. Fridays at the Family Pancake House on 17621 Redmond Way. Breakfast is optional. Members will often host a guest speaker addressing child and youth services.

The Kiwanis website (redmondkiwaniswa.org) is updated every month with information about the club, activities, speakers and service projects. Redmond Kiwanis welcomes new members. Anyone who would like to be a guest at one of its meetings, call Pat Vache’ at (425) 883-2314.
