Redmond police officers arrest car prowler

An alert Redmond resident witnessed a 20-year-old male trying to open car doors at about 8 a.m. Wednesday in the Grass Lawn area and called 911. The resident was heading out to work when she noticed the activity.

Redmond police officers arrived in the area around 149th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 75th Street and arrested the suspect, who admitted to prowling cars in the area.

According to Becky Range, Redmond Police Department public information officer, the suspect pointed out to officers the cars that he prowled. The suspect prowled around 8-10 cars and possessed burglary tools, Range added.

“This is exactly the kind of thing we want people to call in,” Range said, commending the resident who notified 911.
