Redmond robotics teams qualify for Vex World Championship

Three Exothermic Robotics Club teams from Redmond will represent Washington state in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, Ky. in April. They will be joined by six other teams from across the state who also won playoff spots.

Three Exothermic Robotics Club teams from Redmond will represent Washington state in the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, Ky. in April. They will be joined by six other teams from across the state who also won playoff spots.

The Western Washington State VEX Robotics Championship was hosted at Cavalero Mid-High School in Lake Stevens on March 7. Redmond garnered three of the five top spots that will allow them to advance to the championship next month.

Thirty-five teams from western Washington competed in the head-to-head tournament. The Exothermic Robotics Club includes students from Redmond High, International Community School, Tesla STEM High School, The Bear Creek School and other high schools.

The following Redmond teammates will be attending:

• Team 575 (tournament champion): Jacob Davis, Braxton Eidem, Sam Foltz, Alicia Kacharia and Alex Hsu.

• Team 10X (tournament champion): Sasha Krassovsky, Lauren Martini, Kana Moriyama and Derian Williams.

• Team 10Q (tournament finalist and design award): Adarsh Karnati, Priya Nakkiran, Anuraag Polisetty and Aaron Zhang.

The VEX Robotics World Championship will play host to more than 25 countries from around the world.
