JANET EMILY HOCKENBERY

Janet Emily McEvelia Hockenbery passed away suddenly at her home in Redmond, Washington on January 26, 2018 at the age of 99. She was born in Olean, New York on October 29, 1918 to Percy J. McEvelia and Anna (Schnabel) McEvelia.

She was employed for 22 years at Security Trust Company in Rochester, New York. She moved to Redmond, Washington in 1995 and was a long-time member of the Redmond Presbyterian Church.

Janet had a passion for reading, crossword puzzles and watching golf on TV. She enjoyed greatly volunteering for the Redmond Historical Society and riding in the Redmond Derby Day parade.

She will be fondly remembered by her son, Dr. David Hockenbery of Seattle, Washington, two grandchildren, Chelsea Devins of Missoula, Montana, and Zachary Hockenbery of Montreal, Canada, three nephews, John Foster of Pittsford, New York, Robert Luderman of Middletown, Ohio, John Luderman of Charlottesville, Virginia and a niece, Anne Barker of Rochester, New York.
