Joseph C. Borichewski

Joseph C. Borichewski, 85, of Redmond, Washington passed away peacefully on March 21, 2016 at the Swedish Issaquah Hospital surrounded by those who loved him, and comforted by a priest administering a final blessing as he took his last breath.

Joe was born in Sayreville, New Jersey, and true to his namesake, St. Joseph the Patron Saint of Engineers, Joe obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master degrees in Civil Engineering from Lehigh University, graduating with honors and as a scholarship recipient. Joe held the rank of First Lieutenant in the United States Army Corps. of Engineers, and served his country overseas before accepting employment with Boeing. Joe remained with Boeing for the entirety of his distinguished, 37-year career as an Aerospace Project Manager, supervising the installation of Boeing construction projects in 7 different states before finishing his career in Seattle.

Joe spent his early retirement years in Florida, but returned to Washington to live his final 10 years in Trilogy at Redmond, close to his family. One of Joe’s passions was international travel, and his adventures included trips with his children and siblings to China, and Eastern and Western Europe.

Joe is survived by his three children, Joseph (Sammamish), Michael (Philadelphia) and Lisca (Seattle); five grandchildren (Joshua, Matthew, Alexandra, Michael and Tyler) and three younger siblings, Michael, Rose Ann and Raymond (New Jersey). Joe will be remembered as a loving father and a devout Catholic who always made family his first priority.

A funeral Mass was held for Joe on March 29, 2016 at St. Jude’s, his parish in Redmond, followed by his burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bellevue where he was laid to rest next to his grandson, Brayden Borichewski, who predeceased him.
