William Joseph Schneble

William Joseph Schneble

William Joseph Schneble, “Willy”, “Doc”, “Poppy” of Bellevue, WA was born August 18, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio to Clem and Marian Schneble.

Bill was a captain in the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War as a physician. He moved his family out west where he worked in private practice as a Internal medicine physician and FAA examiner 43 years. He was loved by his patients and pilots who appreciated the time he would take to sit and talk with them. The Northwest allowed Bill the opportunity to enjoy many outdoor experiences with his family.

Bill’s real passion in life was fishing with his son, son-in-law, daughters, grandchildren, or anyone else who would take him. He could be found wearing his Fish Fear Me shirt, a pole in one hand and peanuts in the other. Sadly, he had more luck eating peanuts than catching fish!! He was a loving and dedicated husband, dad, granddad, and brother. He was excited to be a part of all family activities and was usually the last to leave the party. He was a dedicated soccer coach to his kids and instilled a love of the game in his children and grandchildren. He loved to work in the yard and happily tended to his or other family members’ gardens. He loved to spend time in Plain, WA and could often be found puttering around doing odd tasks. He was a simple man who took joy in simple things. He always encouraged his family to “be nice” and asked God to help all of us be better people.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, of 46 years, his children Mary Haynes (husband Shawn) of Woodinville, Peggy Ruehr (husband David) of Bellevue, John (wife Sue Haviland) of Carnation, Becky Cornish (husband Peter) of Woodinville, Laurie Schneble of Bellevue, six grandkids Ella, Spencer, August, Grace, Madison, Carson, siblings Shirley Balcerek (Pennsylvania), Jerry Schneble (Michigan), Dan Schneble (Michigan), Kathy Viall (Ohio), his dog Vinny (MIA) and five grand-dogs.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louise Church in Bellevue. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to send donations to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org
