I am saddened to hear that SecondStory Repertory is struggling to stay afloat in these though economic times.

As a high school theatre student, I value the presence of theatre companies like SecondStory in our community. I have always thought that the Eastside was in need of more theatre, not less, and it troubles me to think that we might lose SecondStory Repertory.

I think that it is important for smaller theatre companies to continue to make theatre art despite the difficult economic climate, especially since trying times often provide the inspiration for great art.

I hope that the community will continue to support their arts organizations, since art is such a vital element of expression in society, and wish those at SecondStory Repertory the best of luck in their fundraising efforts.
