Playing in their 4A Kingco league opener last night at Hartman Park, the Redmond baseball team was unable to come up with clutch hits in a 5-0 loss to rival Eastlake.
The Wolves got on the board early with a run in the first, and took a 3-0 advantage after a Mustang error in the fourth.
Redmond managed just five hits, including a double by sophomore Lucas Eliason, and was just 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
The Mustangs dropped to 0-3 on the season and will week their first win on Thursday afternoon against Skyline on the Spartans' field, first pitch at 3:45 p.m.
Overlake stays perfect, beats Sammamish
The Owls' baseball team improved to 3-0 on Tuesday in a 7-3 nonleague win over Sammamish, fueled by a monster fourth inning.
Overlake plated six runs in that pivotal frame to overcome a 3-0 deficit.
Overlake's Peter Perkins went 2-for-4 for the Owls, with Matt Kaiser going the distance on the mound, striking out eight for the win.
