Bear Creek scores district crown; state is next | Boys Soccer

Bear Creek's boys soccer team won its 2B/1B District 1/2 title, 2-1, in a penalty-kick shootout over Providence on Saturday.

The Grizzlies earned a trip to state and will take on Mount Vernon Christian in the quarterfinals at 1 p.m. this Saturday at Sammamish High.

At districts, Providence scored first in the 23rd minute and Bear Creek's Luke Blankenbeckler knocked in the equalizer at 63 minutes.

Bear Creek (16-1-1 overall) outscored Providence 8-7 in PKs.
