Bear Creek headed to 1B/2B state final | Girls Soccer

Olivia Tillinghast scored Bear Creek's first goal just over 12 minutes into the match to get the ball rolling for the Grizzlies en route to their 4-0 victory over Crosspoint Academy this afternoon in the 1B/2B state semifinal at Sunset Chev Stadium in Sumner.

It is the third time Bear Creek (14-4 overall) has defeated Crosspoint this season.

Bear Creek will play the Napavine-Liberty Bell winner at 2 p.m. tomorrow for the state title. The Grizzlies won the state crown last season.

Jill Leszynski also had a pair of goals and an assist for Bear Creek. Sara Hastings had the Grizzlies' final goal and Caroline Bridgwater had two assists and Whitney Isbell had one assist.

Goalkeeper Hannah Posting posted the shutout for Bear Creek and had four saves.

On Tillinghast's goal, Leszynski crossed the ball in from the left side and  the scorer banged it home from the middle of the box.

Leszynski scored near the end of the first half off a long free kick from Bridgwater. Two second-half header goals from Leszynski (54th minute) and Hastings (57th minute) were off an Isbell cross from the touchline and a Bridgwater corner kick, respectively.
