Gallaghers hat trick lifts Mustangs

Danny Gallagher scored two goals in the first six minutes and wound up with his first hat trick of the season as Redmond defeated Roosevelt 4-0 in a 4A Kingco boys soccer game on Tuesday.
Gallagher scored in the fourth, sixth and 50th minutes as Redmond improved to 5-2-0 in 4A Kingco and 9-2-1 overall.
Fellipe Barros scored a goal in the 35th minute and Eric Margeson picked up his sixth shutout of the season and his second against Roosevelt (4-4-0, 7-5-0) this season.
As of the Reporters deadline, Redmond was third in 4A Kingco with 15 points, behind Juanita and Eastlakes 18. Redmond had played one less game than the two first-place schools, and a win is worth three points.
Redmond baseball clinch playoff bye
Scott Herman went 2-for-3 and picked up the save as Redmond clinched at least second place in 4A Kingco and a first-round bye in the playoffs by defeating Inglemoor 6-3 in a 4A Kingco baseball game on Monday.
Matt Burrows pitched 6 1/3 innings to improve to 6-0 on the year and move himself into eighth place on the single-season Redmond win list. No. 3 Redmond improved to 15-2 and Inglemoor fell to 9-6.
LW baseball blasts Bothell, 10-3
Chris Hashimoto hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning as Lake Washington blew out Bothell 10-3 in a 4A Kingco baseball game on Tuesday.
Hashimoto went 2-for-3 with five runs-batted-in (RBI) and two runs scored as Lake Washington improved to 9-7 at the time.
Alex Potts went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI for the Kangs. Beau Breda hit a two-run home run of his own for the Cougars in the fifth, but Bothell fell to 11-6 on the season.
LW softball falls shorts
Rogin Hardy hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning, but Lake Washingtons bid to end Woodinvilles quest for a perfect 4A Kingco softball season came up just short in a 4-3 loss on Tuesday. Haley Andrews drove in a run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Kangs left two runners on base in the seventh inning. Lake Washington fell to 9-2 on the season, while Woodinville improved to 9-0.
LW golf edges Woodinville
Kelly McGivern tied for medalist honors with a 51 as Lake Washington narrowly defeated Woodinville 278-284 in a 4A Kingco girls golf match at Wayne Golf Course on Tuesday. Stephanie Schoeppel finished third, one stroke back from the leaders, and Sammie Marshall cracked the top five with a 56.
Redmond lacrosse remains undefeated
Jake Bernstein (two goals), Harrison Valentine (one goal, one assist) and Nate Chirstiansen (two assists) all scored two points as the Redmond Lacrosse Club stayed undefeated after beating San Juan 9-3 on April 19. John Olin stopped five shots as Redmond led 9-1 after three quarters.
Redmonds final home game of the regular season is Senior Night against Snohomish on April 29 at the Redmond High football field at 7 p.m.
