Hendron leads Redmond softball past Bothell

Erika Hendron led the Redmond Mustangs at the plate and on the mound as Redmond defeated playoff-bound Bothell 8-0 in a 4A Kingco softball game on Friday.
Hendron gave up just three hits and struck out 12 in the complete-game shutout victory. She also drove in two runs to ignite the Mustangs offense. Riley Flynn and Jenny Eisenmann also contributed with two RBIs a piece, and Emily Squiers went 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
It was the third straight victory for the Mustangs, who improved to 12-6 as of the Reporters deadline. Redmond played first-place Woodinville on Monday, after the Reporters deadline.
Overlake baseball drops a pair of games to start May
The Overlake School baseball team started May with losses to the 1A Emerald City Leagues top two teams, first a 6-1 loss at Bellevue Christian last Thursday and then a 4-3 loss to Cedar Park Christian last Friday.
As of the Reporters deadline, Overlake was 6-5 and 9-5 overall.
