Overlake boys are academic all-state champions

The Overlake School's boys varsity basketball team was named the 2012-2013 Washington Interscholastic Activities Association's (WIAA) academic state champions for the 1A classification at the recent state tournament in Yakima.

The team has won the award twice in the last three years, posting a cumulative grade-point average of 3.67 in 2013. The team traveled to Yakima to accept the award at halftime during the 1A state championship game.

Overlake representatives accepting the award in Yakima were: Assistant coach Bob Morris, Cole Paxton, Katon Minhas, Evan Sather, David Treadwell, Keshav Ummat, Pranav Harikrishnan, Troy Stolarczuk, Israel Hilerio and head coach Justin Prohn. (Other team members include Devin Daher, Preston Gulledge, Declan Daly, Will Spencer and L.T. Cosmos.)
