Fastpitch three-peat: Redmond earns another district title | SLIDESHOW

Redmond's Little League All-Star team did it again, sweeping the District 9 fastpitch softball competition for the third year in a row.

At Kirkland's Everest Park, teams from the majors division competed last week, ending with a championship game on Saturday. Many of the Redmond fastpitch stars have played together since they were 9 and 10 years old. Most of them are age 12 now.

Winning pitchers Jaclyn Hargin and Sydney Wood had plenty of offensive run support in the early games, including Audrey Walker's home run and Jennifer Cummings' 3-for-4 game with three triples. In a strong defensive matchup in the championship game, Hargin posted five strikeouts and Redmond held on for a nail-biting 1-0 win over the combined team from Issaquah, Eastlake and Sammamish.
