Zach Alleva, a Bear Creek School ninth-grader who swims for Eastlake High, has been making major strides for WAVE Aquatics’ 14-and-under team.

Alleva set two team records in the 50- and 100- yard breaststroke events at the recent WAVE Championships at King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way. HIs time in the 50 breast was 29.44 seconds and his time in the 100 breast was 1:02.42.

He also led WAVE with a total of 64 points and four new qualifying times as his team finished eighth out of the 38 teams.

Alleva was named to the Pacific Northwest Swimming All-Star team for his performance, which will earn him a trip to race the region’s best swimmers in a four-state competition later this month.
