Bear Creek Sophomore Gannon McCahill earned medalist honors at Thursday's Sea-Tac 1B/2B League Championship by defeating Elie Aboulafia of Northwest Yeshiva in a one-hole playoff after both tied with scores of 15-over-par 86.

Bear Creek golf team wins league crown

The Bear Creek School boys' golf team won the Sea-Tac 1B/2B League Championship May 7 at the par-71 Jackson Park Golf Course in Seattle, running away from the field with 88 team points, finishing 41.5 points ahead of Northwest Yeshiva School.

Sophomore Gannon McCahill led the way, earning medalist honors by defeating Elie Aboulafia of Northwest Yeshiva in a one-hole playoff after both tied with scores of 15-over-par 86.

The Grizzlies finished with five players in the top 10 out of the 28-player field including Calvin Freatman (89), Johnie Freatman (90), Eli Sanger (92) and Will Stansell (95).

Up next for the Grizzlies will be the Tri-District tournament at Gallery Golf Course in Oak Harbor this Wednesday, May 13.
