The Dow Baseball Club 16U team, based out of Redmond, won the Triple Crown World Series in Denver, Colo. on July 30 by beating another local team, Woodinville, 7-1 and 10-0 in the double-elimination championship finals.

Dow lost its first game to the Loveland, Colo. Eagles, 9-8, before reeling off seven straight victories including winning its final four games by a scoring margin of 31-4, en route to the title.

Woodinville Baseball Club’s 16U Olympic team, which won the prestigious Can-Am Classic in Oliver, British Columbia last month by playing to a perfect 6-0 record and beating some of Canada's premier teams, began the Triple Crown playoffs as the No. 1 seed after winning all four games in pool play. Woodinville remained undefeated until back-to-back losses to Dow sealed its fate.

Leading the offense for the Dow Baseball was Alex Donnelly, who batted .565 with 13 hits, eight runs batted in and 14 runs scored for the tournament, followed by Matt Wenzinger who batted .563.

The win for Dow's 16U team was the program's first World Series victory since 2001, and its third overall.
