Eastlake Red junior football team caps undefeated season with Rookie title

The Eastlake Rookie Red football team, led by head coach Jim Schnell, won the Greater Eastside Junior Football Association (GEJFA) Rookie championship last Saturday, Nov. 14 at Mount Si High School as the team wrapped up its first-ever undefeated regular season in the program's history by beating Lake Washington, 12-0, in the title game.

Eastlake finished with an 11-0 record, the only undefeated team among the 28 Rookie level squads.

The team, which consists of 15 kids ages 8-10 years old from Redmond and Sammamish, outscored its opponents, 245-45.

Team members included Aaron Quick, Blake Schnell, Nathan Fitzgibbons, Jakob Stevenson, Barrett Albright, Christopher Nelson, Dalton Chandler, Braden Loveall, Griffin McCauley, Garrick Teglovic, Riley Thomas, Connor Schroeder, Jalen Young, Jack Rud, and Casey Beliel.
